DAIRY
Many dairy and dairy ingredient manufacturers are operating with obsolete and unsupportable automation systems. Despite tough economic conditions and tightened regulations, milk production isn’t slowing down. Dairy processing plants must develop a sustainable approach to innovation to succeed in this environment. Malisko has a wide breadth of experience in the dairy industry and can help drive that success.
MALISKO: A DAIRY INDUSTRY LEADER
Malisko understands that dairy manufacturing can be both very similar and vastly different than other food and beverage manufacturing. From understanding federal, state and local level regulations to manufacturing process applications, it is important that who you partner with understands the unique aspects of dairy manufacturing.
This is why Malisko has a dedicated Automation Solutions Consultant who focuses solely on dairy manufacturing. After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in Economics, Dan went to work for a large dairy balancing plant producing bulk dairy ingredients: dairy powders, butter, and tanker quantity liquid products. Dan served many roles during his time working in the plant . He started out getting to learn each process. Dan was taught early on that you could not be an effective leader if you do not understand how the equipment operated. Dan created, what he didn’t know at the time they were called, Standard Operating Procedures to help remind him the proper steps of starting up, running, and shutting down the equipment. From there Dan moved on to process improvement where he took his knowledge of the systems and applied solutions that would reduce shrinkage, increase efficiency, and reduce the overall cost of running and CIPing the equipment.
In a dairy plant, you wear many hats: HACCP team member, Food Safety Team Leader, SQF Practitioner, and Food Defense Coordinator.Dan’s role was Food Safety Team Leader, SQF Practitioner, and Food Defense Coordinator. He was also part of the HACCP team. Dan did his part in making sure the products made were of the highest quality and safe for consumption. Dan joined Malisko Engineering in 2016 as Automation Solution Consultant. Now Dan focuses on what he does best; bettering the Dairy Industry by bringing innovative solutions to Dairy Processors. Using a hands-on approach, Dan jumps right into the customers process to fully understand their difficulties.
